Patented univeresal axial fitting mechanism fits 2.5mm and 1.25mm ferrules Internal Sleeve UPD-25 accepts FC, ST and SC Connectors Auto key lock for SC and LC Connector Stainless Steel

The Universal polishing discs are made of stainless steel and contain an internal sleeve to guide and secure the ferrule during polishing. The Universal 2.5mm Disc accepts FC, ST and SC connectors. The recessed areas around the port on the discs allows the SC and LC connectors to automatically lock into position.

Connector Insertion

Universal Polishing Disc (UPD-25)
Insert an SC, ST, FC or 2.5 mm ferrule PC connector into the universal port on disc. An internal sleeve will guide and hold the ferrule secure during polishing.

LC Polishing Disc (UPD-125)
Insert an LC connector into the port on the disc by pushing the ferrule into the port opening. An internal sleeve will guide and hold the ferrule secure during polishing. The connector will automatically lock into the recessed area on the disc.

Polishing

Please refer to the connector manufacturers instructions for fiber preparation and proper polishing procedures. Most connector manufacturers supply detailed instructions for assembly, termination and polishing procedures.

Visual Inspection

CAUTION: Never inspect or look into active fiber. Eye injury or blindness could result due to direct exposure to infrared light. Always wear proper eye wear when working with bare fiber. Using an inspection scope, inspect the quality of the polish.
